If the borough of Queens is considered as the most diverse county in the United States then Elmhurst surely must be its capital. Immigrants from all over the globe flock to our sprawling neighborhood to make a better life for themselves and their children. Roam the streets of Elmhurst and you will be amazed at the multitude of ethnic culinary offerings. How incredibly diverse is our community? We are not sure, but we do know we have people from Bangladesh, Belize, Bhutan, Burma, Cuba, China, Colombia, Ecuador, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Guyana, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, and Vietnam living, working or attending schools in our neighborhood. Faced with such a vast cultural and language diversity, our grassroot organization aim to connect, inform, educate, and unite all residents for the best interest of our community.
Elmhurst United is dedicated in maintaining or improving the quality of life, education standards and safety of our communities. Our goal is to overcome the language and cultural barriers and unite our diverse communities as one. Together with our partners, and elected officials we will do our utmost to provide fair opportunities for everyone to achieve their goals and dreams.
